J.I.D

J.I.D, full name Destin Choice Route, is an American rapper, born October 31, 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia. His stage name, J.I.D, was created by shortening his nickname "jittery" (nervous) and adding the letter "D" to the end.

Destin's career began in 2012 when he joined the music collective Spillage Village, which was founded by Earthgang. In 2017, he signed with Dreamville Records, a music label owned by rapper J. Cole.

J.I.D's first official record titled "DiCaprio" was released in 2015. In 2017, the compilation "The Never Story" followed – it was very well received by critics and J.I.D began to become a major figure in the hip hop scene. His debut album "DiCaprio 2" was released in 2018 and was again very well received by both critics and fans.

J.I.D's music features fast and complex rapping, intelligent lyrics and innovative beats. His work includes jazz, funk, rock and other genres of music. The lyrics often focus on social and political themes, and J.I.D tries to convey these messages in his music.

J.I.D has also collaborated with many other artists, including J. Cole, Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar, Denzel Curry and others. In 2021, J.I.D released his second album titled "The Forever Story". This record was also met with great acclaim.
