LOW ISLAND

Low Island is a group of four talented musicians: Jamie (vocals, guitars, keyboards, electronics), Carlos (vocals, guitars, keyboards), Jacob (bass) and Felix (drums, percussion). They come from Oxford, where their journey began. The British foursome Low Island brings broken house full of heartfelt harmonies to the music scene. 

The story of Low Island began as a by-product of theatre music composed by Jamie and Carlos. The pair, who were previously residents at The Warehouse in Leeds, decided to create something more distinctive and long-lasting. Soon they were joined by old friend Jacob and percussionist Felix to form the band.

In January 2017 they released their debut EP, Just About Somewhere. This EP gives listeners an intimate look inside the band and their subdued world. This release has offered comparisons to greats such as Caribou, Radiohead, Grizzly Bear and even Arthur Russell. Their music has also been praised by BBC Radio 6 Music's Lauren Laverne and BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens. On Spotify, this 4-track EP has received nearly a million plays.

The follow-up single Rest Your Heads follows the success of the End Piece EP (2018). This single carries a subtle house vibe and kaleidoscopic synths that invite the listener on a unique musical journey.
Following a successful performance at London's Electrowerkz (2019), Low Island have announced a series of shows, including an appearance at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton.
Low Island are set to join the likes of The xx, Caribou, Rhodes and Boxed In. Their music is simply a must hear. Start with the new single "Rest Your Head" and let yourself be transported into the world of Low Island.
