M83

Confirmed, Prague can look forward to the sounds of multi-instrumentalist Anthony Gonzalez and his sonic tsunami composed of synthesizers, guitars, vocals and epic choruses. 

The band was formed in 1999 at Antibes High School by Anthony Gonzalez and Nicolas Fromageau under the name M83, inspired by the Messier 83 galaxy in the Hydra constellation. They recorded their first album "M83" in the spring of 2001 and already their second album, "Dead Cities, Red Seas and Lost Ghosts", met with international acclaim and brought them to the highest levels of the electronic music scene. In 2006, after the American tour for their third album "Before the Dawn Heals Us", Nicolas Fromageau left the band. M83 shines on, and other successful albums "Digital Shades Volume 1 (2007)", "Saturdays = Youth" (2008), "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming" (2011), "Junk" (2016) and "DSVII" (2019) follow.

They received a nomination at the 2012 MTVU Woodie Awards with the video for "Midnight City" and at the 2013 Grammy Awards for the alternative double album "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming".
