NYLON JAIL

Nylon Jail is an Olomouc band playing indie rock with elements of electronica, country and pop melodies. In mid-March, this now cult band released their third album Kings of the Weaklings and on 12 April 2023 they released it in Prague at the Cargo Gallery.

Nylon Jail's songs are often influenced by personal experiences and emotions and are characterized by strong melodies and unmistakable vocals. The lyrics deal with social issues, sustainability, as well as relationships. Nylon Jail generally do not hesitate to express their political opinion and support causes that make sense to them, such as in the case of last year's Christmas dinner distribution at a social home in Olomouc. Nylon Jail is an alternative band, but a listenable one that even mainstream listeners will love. In the past they have been Vinyl's Discovery of the Year and nominated for the Angel Awards in the alternative category.

The Kings of the Weaklings album began recording in January 2022 as a ten year anniversary present. The band has therefore embarked on a trip through time. In addition to new songs, the album contains songs that started many years ago and ended up in a drawer.

"The third album took the longest to make and is of course my favourite because it is the newest. The main theme for me is the uncertainty of the time in which it was made. The impossibility of controlling the situation because the driving forces are stronger than will. And our reaction to all the events around us that transcend us, and which until recently existed only in the world of fantasy, is a bittersweet and lavish birthday party. Bittersweet, but to the full," says guitarist and author Roman Vicik.
