SOMEBODY'S CHILD

Somebody's Child's debut album, released on February 3, 2023, represents the culmination of years of work by Cian Godfrey. He launched the project in his native Dublin in 2018 with a series of infectious indie-pop singles that quickly gained attention not only in Ireland, but also in the UK. A stint as early support acts for Primal Scream and Kaiser Chiefs and an appearance on The Late Late Show helped the band's rapid emergence into the wider public eye. Soon after, American indie label Frenchkiss Records (The Drums, Passion Pit) rang the doorbell.

The album was produced by Mikko Gordon (Arcade Fire, The Smile) at Hackney Road Studios in East London. As well as newly written material, the album features some fan favourites. The album has received positive reviews from major music magazines such as CLASH, The Irish Times and Hot Press. It has received radio support from RTE 2FM, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music and the Dutch NPO 3FM.

The band was invited to perform live at the BBC's legendary Maida Vale studios and performed to sell-out houses during a UK tour in February (from Southampton to Glasgow). The concert at the Academy in Dublin even sold out triumphantly before the actual date. Somebody's Child also performed at Eurosonic in Groningen and made their first trip to the US, where they performed twice successfully at the SXSW festival in Austin.

It is evident that all these successes are just the beginning and Somebody's Child has a bright future ahead of them.
