Metronome Prague 2023 presents 
the first Czech-Slovak stars

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the dissolution of the federation, Metronome Prague has published the first five Czech and Slovak artists. Those artists are Jana Kirschner, Midi Lidi, Zrní, MYDY and Silver Spoons. They are preparing exclusive concert specials for the festival visitors, which are already a traditional part of the music festival held on 22-25 June 2023 at the Prague Exhibition Grounds.

Midi Lidi, big fans of synthesizers and the top of the local underground electro scene, will present at Metronome Prague 2023 a continuation of the concert programme of songs by Miro Zbirka, for which the band has created a completely new visual concept. The band’s concert carries a special symbolism - it was at the Prague Exhibition Centre, during a tribute performance to Ivan Kral, that this Slovak musical icon performed for the last time. Band Midi Lidi was founded in 2006, when like the mythical Phoenix bird, the group rose from the ashes of the musical group Krásný Stěhovák Gerard & Sexuální nábytek and a year later released the album “Čekání na robota", which was nominated for the 2007 Anděl Awards. The band, which impresses with both its music and unusual lyrics, has overlaps into film music. For the soundtrack of the film "Protector" the band received the Czech Lion Movie Award.

The band Zrní, on the border between alternative and pop culture, is one of the most interesting projects of the Czech music scene and their performance at Metronome Prague 2023 will be filmed by Czech Television. Their unmistakable poetic lyrics, original work with electronics and unconventional composer/producer approach make them a band that can surprise over and over again. For the upcoming Metronome Prague 2023 they have prepared a concert premiere of the visual for their new album "Široko daleko", which will be shown again at the autumn launches.

Silver Spoons, a Czech indie pop-rock band, will perform their visual-musical show, which is a unique combination of dance tunes and snappy guitar riffs. The formation stepped out of anonymity in 2018 with the single "He's Got My Money Now," which, along with two other tracks, earned them the Žebřík Award for Discovery of 2018, the OSA Award for Most Successful Young Songwriter, and nominations for Band of the Year in 2020 and 2021. The band released their debut album "Come and Get it" in early 2022, which was co-written by Danny Saber, who has produced such stars as the Rolling Stones, David Bowie and Black Sabbath in the past.

MYDY is one of the most active and well-known Czech bands on the international scene. Among the biggest successes of this formation are performances at festivals of Glastonbury, Sziget, Lowlands or Ottawa Bluesfest. The band was formed in 2012 and was blessed by the musical fairies with full load of electro swing, but soon it was not enough for their musical tastes. So MYDY created their own musical style, which they now refer to as glamtronic, a dance-electro-rock cocktail with an extravagant visual style led by frontwoman Žofie Dařbujánová, a great singer and songwriter.

Jana Kirschner is a Slovak singer who currently resides in London and rarely performs in the Czech Republic. One of the very few exceptions is Metronome Prague 2023, to which she has exclusively promised her participation. She has been engaged in music all her life, attending piano and singing lessons since she was just a child. In 1996, at the age of seventeen, she released her debut album titled "Jana Kirschner". The singles "Liska", "Žienka domáca" and "V cudzom meste" were a breakthrough on the domestic scene and topped the charts of leading Slovak radio stations. In 2000, the album "V cudzom meste" followed, with which she also established herself on the Czech music market. Next were albums "Pelikán" (2002) and "Veci co sa dejú" (2003), which was followed by the successful international debut "Shine".
